Monday 1st May - walk ***** Falkenham Circuit including lunch with 'Emily' - Sunny periods.

The good weather continues which was a bit of a shock as it?s a Bank Holiday Monday which allowed me to do my exercises in the garden while Mag did her raised beds, her potatoes are coming on well:) Was not sure what we were doing, there was talk of going to Needham Lake with the Granddaughter but she is not a 100% we think due to her teeth coming we think, are plans changed, so with another picnic packed to drive over to Falkenham Church to have lunch with ?Emily? :) It had clouded over with some amazing skies again over Suffolk which threatened rain, luckily we only got a brief spell and the breeze picked up briefly too! We spotted a buzzard sitting on someone?s garden shed, unfortunately when we stopped to take a pic it flew off! It was lovely and peaceful sitting at our favourite bench with fantastic views with the church yard tree full of birds including long tailed tits, a spotted woodpecker, a robin, then a muntjac deer made a brief appearance, saw us and quickly ran off! After our yummy lunch we set off on the route we usually bike down a winding farm track and soon saw another deer in a field, it was quickly joined by another as they skipped away, we were pretty sure they were Chinese water deer, which proved correct when I checked the photos when I got home, always great to see them. We then saw 5 Roe deer in another field but they were sadly along way in the distance. A kestrel was also hunting as we ambled along with another buzzard appearing as well a yellow bird, probably a yellow hammer? We reach the River Deben path but with the tide low there was very few yachts out today as we returned inland again back to the church, up until this point we had seen very few people, just how we like it but a few had now ventured out for an after lunch stroll. Back through Falkenham church graveyard a mass of flowers and back to the van for the 5 mile trip back home, What a top holiday long weekend its been:)
